Jean-Karl Vernay’s qualifying time restored

Jean-Karl Vernay has had his qualifying time restored for the TCR International Series races at Spa-Francorchamps, giving the Frenchman ninth on the grid for the first race.

Vernay had initially had his time disallowed for exceeding the track limits, but the stewards subsequently realised the Leopard Racing driver had only been warned once, giving him his time back.

That means that Antti Buri inherits the reverse-grid pole position for the second race, with local racer Peirre-Yves Corthals therefore missing out on a pole at his home circuit and starting 11^th for both races.

Elsewhere, Liqui Moly Team Engstler’s Mikhail Grachev was handed a three-place grid penalty for exceeding the track limits three times in the session. He will start from last as a result, although his drop is effectively only one position as he was 17th in Q1.
