Young Hungarian Attila Tassi will join B3 Racing for the 2016 TCR International Series season, joining Dušan Borković and Mat’o Homola at the wheel of one of the team’s SEAT León racers.
Tassi has raced for B3 Racing since the 2012 season, when he was just 12, and competed in the Hungarian Suzuki Swift Cup.
Having scored one race victory and a best championship result of sixth over three seasons, the 16-year-old then moved to the SEAT León Eurocup for 2015,
Moving up to the TCR series is the next step in the youngster’s rapidly developing touring car career.
“It is a great honour and also a great opportunity for me to represent my home country and my team in a global series,” said Tassi. “I’m aware that this also means a lot of responsibility, which is why I’m spending my time in serious preparation.
“As the youngest driver in the field, I face a difficult task, but I can learn a lot from my experienced teammates. My aim for the first season is to gain respect from my competitors and to be considered a serious rival.”
Technical Director Dávid Bári hopes that the team’s investment in the ‘next generation’ of touring car drivers will pay off.
“There is no question: Attila is very talented and we know he has a lot of potential,” he added. “He is young, committed and exceptionally motivated to become one of Hungary’s best drivers.
“It was no accident that he was given the chance in the SEAT León Eurocup last year. He is the next generation for us and we completely place our trust in him.”
