Team Dynamics expansion included in 2016 TBL licence allocation

British Touring Car Championship organiser TOCA has confirmed its allocation of licences to teams for the 2016 season, with 32 licences handed out.

With the deadline for existing competitors to apply for licences expiring at the end of October, the 30 permanent licences and TOCA’s two loan reserves that have been a requirement for all competitors since the start of the 2014 season have today (Wednesday November 4) been distributed.

The Honda-backed Team Dynamics outfit, which helped Gordon Shedden to a second BTCC crown in 2015, looks set to expand to a three-car entry for next year after picking up one of the two loan licences.

Honda had signed Jack Clarke to its Driver Development programme earlier this year, but the marque’s full driver line-up for 2016 is yet to be revealed.

The second of those loan licences has again been awarded to Support Our Paras Racing, which had possessed both at the beginning of 2015 before forfeiting one midway through the season.

The total number of licences distributed – including the aforementioned loans – will also increase in 2016 to 32 from last season’s 31, with AmD Tuning, which ran Nicolas Hamilton and Jake Hill as guest drivers last season, and Speedworks Motorsport each granted a second TBL.
