Triple top ten for Adam Morgan at Brands

Adam Morgan and the Ciceley Racing team secured a trio of top ten finishes at Brands Hatch, including a career best finish of fourth for Morgan which brought his first Independents’ victory.

“The car was a dream to drive this weekend, hopefully we can carry this momentum forward into the next round at Donington Park,” explains Morgan.

Having qualified 10th in the snow affected qualifying session, the 2011 Ginetta GT Supercup Champion was able to bring home the #33 Toyota Avensis 7th – this at the time was his best finish to date in the BTCC.

Lining up 7th for the second race, Morgan held his position well until a small excursion dropped him back down to 13th position. Morgan was able to fight back to secure another seventh place finish, which became sixth after an exclusion for a rival.

This left Morgan and the Ciceley Racing team on the front row for the final race of the weekend and on the medium tyre compared to those around him who were on the soft tyre.

At the start, Morgan held his position but after a four lap Safety car period, Morgan was unable to stay with Matt Neal in the Honda and turned his attention to defending his position from Jason Plato in the MG.

A slight tap with a couple of laps remaining meant that Morgan was demoted to fourth and he brought the car home fourth and with it as the top Independent driver.

“I’m very proud of the team and what we have managed to achieve this weekend,” said a delighted Morgan.

“I can’t begin to describe how much work has been put in to get this BTCC programme off the ground, so to end our debut weekend together with a first Independents Trophy win is just brilliant,” concluded Morgan.
