Adam Morgan pleased with Brands qualifying

Adam Morgan will line up tenth on the grid for the opening round of the 2013 British Touring Car Championship after a snow affected qualifying session.

The Ciceley Racing team, making their debut in the series at Brands Hatch with a Toyota Avensis had shown pace and potential throughout the practice sessions and finished the second session fifth fastest.

Qualifying was interrupted by a red flag and then a snow shower but Morgan was able to contend with the snow to set a time of 49.203s around the 1.22 mile Brands Hatch Indy circuit.

“I’m very happy with how qualifying has gone,” explains Morgan. “Unfortunately, we were a couple of minutes late on our strategy but that’s just one of those things.”

“The car felt great, so I think that we’re in good stead heading into tomorrow’s first race. Hopefully we can keep out of trouble on the first lap and really push for a strong points finish. There’s definitely still more to come.”

Looking back at qualifying, Team Principal Russell Morgan was pleased with their first qualifying session with the Toyota Avensis in the BTCC.

“The whole team has done a brilliant job to turn the car into a top ten contender over the winter months,” explained Morgan Snr. “In particular, I’d like to thank Paul Ridgeway for his efforts with the project so far.”

“We’ll have to see how the first race pans out tomorrow, but hopefully we can turn a few heads and have a strong finish to our opening weekend.”
