Yvan Muller has won his third consecutive race in the World Touring Car Championship at Oschersleben today, beating team-mate Robert Huff once again.

Muller’s win means that he has further closed the gap to Huff in the championship, which now stands at just 8 points.
The race took place on a damp and slippery Oschersleben track, with several drivers struggling in the tricky conditions. As Huff pushed to close the gap to Muller he went off himself on lap 5 and was fortunate to not lose any positions. Despite pushing hard in the closing stages of the race he would be unable to challenge the leader Muller who drove a strong race.
At the rolling start Gabriele Tarquini made a strong start to slot into fourth, which would become third on the following lap after he made his way past Tom Coronel. The Italian held on to hold this position until the end of the race to secure his third podium of the year.
Robert Dahlgren, who started from a career-best second, had a difficult start and following contact from Menu he finished the first lap down in 8th. A determined drive during the race saw the Swede pull off several strong overtaking manoeuvres and he fought his way back up to finish in fourth.
Chevrolet driver Alain Menu finished in fifth, unable to match the pace of his team-mates.
Claiming the Yokohama Drivers Trophy win with sixth was Stefano D’Aste, who returned to the Wiechers-Sport team once again this weekend. D’Aste also finished as the top BMW driver, with others struggling with their set-up in the damp conditions.
Michel Nykjaer and Pepe Oriola finished in 7th and 8th respectively, the latter claiming his best-ever result in the WTCC.
Aleksei Dudukaol had one of his strongest races of the year to take ninth, whilst Tom Coronel slipped down the order during the race and could only manage 10th in his ROAL Motorsport-prepared BMW.
Poleman for race two Franz Engstler had a difficult race which was compounded when he spun out at the final corner after contact with Dudukalo. He eventually finished the race down in 16th, having been running in 10th on the final lap.
Fredy Barth was not classified as a finisher following alternator troubles, although he completed a few exploratory laps towards the end of the race to check if the problem was fixed for race two. Tiago Monteiro suffered a puncture on lap 7 and failed to finish the race.
