Jeff Smith in confident form after extensive Eurotech testing

Jeff Smith is confident Eurotech Racing are set for another strong British Touring Car Championship season after sampling his Honda Civic Type R for the first time in 2017 during testing this week.

Smith, who has maintained a level of competition since the BTCC finale at Brands Hatch in October with outings at Spa-Francorchamps and Bathurst, enjoyed an improved campaign highlighted by a fourth placed finish at Thruxton and nearly double the points total of team-mate Martin Depper en route to 18th in the championship.

Smith joined new recuit Jack Goff at Snetterton for the second day of testing at Snetterton last week, clocking up over 300 kilometres behind the wheel.

The team will continue their testing programme with a week’s testing on Spanish soil next week.

“It was my first chance to get back into the car since the end of the 2016 season,” said Smith.

“The day went really well with around 300 kilometres being completed and gave me a good chance to get dialled back into the car.

“Our new signing Jack Goff continues to impress and the team are all really confident of a strong 2017 season.”

The team are set to unveil the new livery at the official Season Launch, scheduled to take place at Donington Park on March 16th.
