Aiden Moffat will join Power Maxed Racing for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship season, racing one of the team’s brand-new Audi S3 cars.
It means Moffat will race a fifth different car in as many seasons in the BTCC, having moved from racing an Infiniti in 2022, to a Honda in 2023, a Toyota in 2024 and a BMW in 2025.
The 29-year-old Scot will be embarking on his 13th full season in the BTCC and his fifth with the backing of title sponsor LKQ Euro Car Parts.
Moffat already had links with PMR’s Adam Weaver after he was sponsored by Automotive Brands’ Steel Seal brand in his debut year in 2013, when he joined Team HARD for the final two rounds of the season.
Since then, Moffat has gone on to win five BTCC races, his most recent coming in 2024 in a brief one-year foray with Speedworks Motorsport.
Last year, Moffat ended the season 11th overall in the drivers’ standings, having missed out on the podium in his single season in BMW machinery with WSR.
His best championship placing to-date was in 2021 when he was eighth overall as team-mate to eventual champion Ash Sutton.
“It’s about time,” said Moffat. “We’ve been talking about this longer than a Scottish winter!
“Honestly though, I’m so happy we could finally make it happen. Adam backed me when I was just a young lad starting out, so to come full circle and get in a PMR car now, it just feels right.
“Combining this with LKQ Euro Car Parts, who I have also had a long relationship with, is something very special. I haven’t been this excited since my BTCC debut.”
PMR Team Principal Weaver believes Moffat has yet to show his true BTCC potential.
“We’ve known Aiden and his family for a long time,” added Weaver. “Backing his debut all those years ago and now bringing him into a Power Maxed Racing car feels like things have come full circle.
“He’s achieved a lot already, but we genuinely believe the best is still to come.”
Moffat’s team-mate is expected to be revealed as Mikey Doble in due course, with Dexter Patterson driving the team’s third Audi under a separate banner.
