Daryl DeLeon continues with WSR in the BTCC

Daryl DeLeon will enter into a fourth British Touring Car Championship season in 2026, continuing to race a BMW 3 Series for West Surrey Racing.

The 20-year-old joined WSR at the start of the 2025 season and immediately made a leap forward, consistently scoring top ten results.

DeLeon’s best weekend of the season came at Brands Hatch Indy in May, when he scored an emphatic maiden victory in race two.

The Cambridgeshire racer went on to record one more podium finish, with third in race two at Croft, to end the season 13th overall in the drivers’ championship standings.

He also scored a maiden pole position at Silverstone and followed it up with another pole at the final meeting of the year at Brands Hatch.

Entering into his third full BTCC season, the reigning Jack Sears Trophy champion will be team-mate to Charles Rainford once again in 2026.

“I’m excited to continue with WSR for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship and want to thank everyone who made this possible,” said DeLeon.

“Racing the BMW in 2025 was an incredibly valuable and rewarding year for me in every way. Taking my first win, securing my first pole positions and winning the Jack Sears Trophy title are achievements we can all be proud of, however with the new season just around the corner the focus is now on repeating that success.

“I’m really happy to keep working with my engineer and crew as we continue to grow stronger together. We showed good pace during pre-season official testing at Croft, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the season ahead.”

Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, is confident that DeLEon will continue to improve in the forthcoming season.

“We’re very pleased to announce Daryl as part of our 2026 British Touring Car Championship line-up,” added Bennetts.

“Moving from a front-wheel-drive touring car to a rear-wheel-drive machine is a bigger challenge than many people realise, but Daryl did extremely well to adapt to the differences needed in driving style and was rewarded with his first win, two pole positions and the Jack Sears Trophy.

“With a year of experience under his belt, I’m confident that together we can move forwards and challenge for wins and podiums more consistently this coming season.”
