Norbert Michelisz aiming to help team-mates on TCR début

Norbert Michelisz says that his number one priority in this weekend’s TCR International Series races in Hungary will be to help his team-mates, as he makes his début for his own M1RA outfit.

The Hungarian World Touring Car star will make his first foray as a driver into the TCR International Series at the Hungaroring, joining Attila Tassi and Roberto Colciago in his own team.

However Michelisz is no stranger to TCR machinery, having driven a Honda Civic in several rounds of last year’s TCR Benelux series, claiming six victories in the process.

“I have two goals for this weekend,” explained Michelisz. “The first one is to help Attila Tassi and Roberto Colciago in scoring as many points as possible. Both of them are fighting for the championship and M1RA’s main goal is to be successful as a team.

“I will be a guest driver in the event, so my personal interests are less important. On the other hand I would also like to have a podium finish in front of the Hungarian fans.

“This would be the best way to give something back them in exchange for their fantastic support.”

Michelisz will be at the wheel of a rented Civic this weekend, after the car which he was originally destined to drive was instead given to Tassi as a replacement in Salzburg, after his own car was destroyed in a pre-event test.

Michelisz will be one of nine Hungarian drivers taking on their home event, with the others being Tassi, Ferenc Ficza, Márk Jedlóczky, István Bernula, Dániel Nagy, Csaba Toth, Csaba Mór and Anett György.
