Dino Calcum claims pole position for race one at the Red Bull Ring

Lubner Motorsport’s Dino Calcum has put his Opel Astra TCR on pole position for the third round of the ADAC TCR Germany championship, held at the picturesque Red Bull Ring in Austria this weekend.

The 27-year old German has beaten the three Honda cars of Kris Richard (Target Competition UK-SUI), Steve Kirsch and Moritz Oestrreich (both Honda Team ADAC Sachsen), who set the second to fourth fastest times respectively.

Just behind the Honda trio, Mike Halder (Wolf-Power Racing 2, SEAT) beat Antti Buri (LMS Racing, Audi) to fifth place on the grid. Halder was the only SEAT driver to make it into the top 12 shoot-out.

Youngster Luca Engstler (Junior Team Engstler, Volkswagen) was just 0.008 seconds off Buri’s time, putting him into seventh place. The son of touring car veteran Franz Engstler is thus going to share a starting row with defending series’ champion Josh Files (Target Competition UK-SUI, Honda) who put his Honda Civic Type R TCR into eighth.

The fifth starting row has been claimed entirely by the two Aust Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS TCR cars of Sandro Kaibach and Robin Brezina – the second rookie driver after Engstler to make it into the top 12 shoot-out.

Jose Rodrigues (Target Competition AUT-POR, Honda) only set the eleventh fastest time, qualifying in front of Niels Langeveld (Racing One, Audi), who turned no laps.

Race one of the weekend is set to start on Saturday at 14:50 CEST (13:50 BST), with race two following on Sunday at 15:40 CEST (14:40 BST).
