Ashley Sutton has been excluded from qualifying ahead of tomorrows British Touring Car Championship triple-header at Donington Park, handing Rob Austin pole position.
Sutton, who clocked a fastest lap time of 1:09.412, will now start 31st on what would have been his maiden pole for Team BMR’s Subaru outfit.
TOCA have confirmed to TouringCars.net that the official reason for Sutton’s exclusion is an overboosting of the turbo on the Subaru Levorg GT.
Ashley Sutton declined to comment on his exclusion when contacted by TouringCars.net
The next quickest Team BMR car was Jason Plato who finished the session in 17th, some six tenths of a second adrift of his team-mate.
The exclusion also promotes Jack Goff onto the front row of the grid, with Tom Ingram now third.
