GermanFLAVOURS Racing set for 2017 TCR Germany début

GermanFLAVOURS Racing have now announced their move to the ADAC TCR Germany Series in 2017, further bolstering the ranks of a championship that saw Target Competition’s Josh Files win the inaugural drivers’ title at the final race of the year.

The Sprockhövel-based outfit will be running two brand new Audi Sport RS3 LMS, having switched to TCR Germany after a spell in Germany’s STT (Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy), with Thomas Kramwinkel confirmed as the first of the driver pairing.

The 26-year-old raced with the outfit in the STT last year, competing in the heavily-Porsche filled Class 3, taking the runner-up spot in the drivers’ standings, as well as racing in the Time Attack Masters series.

Kramwinkel is looking to the ADAC TCR Germany series as the next step of his racing career, having built up experience in STT over the past season as a rookie.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge, but I have great respect for it,” said the Velbert-based driver, who has seen that the series is one of the up-and-coming championships in Germany, making it a logical choice to make the move up.

“Last year, I was able to develop myself and I am now ready to attack. Of course, I am very grateful to GermanFLAVOURS for the support, because without the support this would not be possible.”

Several drivers have vested their interest in the second race seat for the team for the forthcoming campaign, with no confirmation as of yet.

GermanFLAVOURS will begin their preparation and testing schedule for their début season after they have received their two new RS3s.

The first round of the 2017 ADAC TCR Germany Series gets underway at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben between the 29th and 30th of April.
