The final free practice session for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) at the Red Bull Ring saw Audi’s Edoardo Mortara take the top spot, leading an Ingolstadt 1-2-3-4 at the end of the 30-minute session.
The Italian bettered the time set by Marco Wittmann during Saturday’s qualifying session, posting a 1:22.654, ahead of Team Rosberg’s Jamie Green, Team Phoenix’s Timo Scheider and Mike Rockenfeller.
All four RS5 DTMs were split by just 0.203 seconds, with Audi taking the monopoly around the 4.326-km track with seven of its cars in the top ten.
Miguel Molina was the only driver from the Ingolstadt ranks to not make it into the sharp end of the grid, posting the 22nd fastest time, 0.700 seconds off the pace set by Mortara.
Both Paul Di Resta and Esteban Ocon cemented their places in the top ten for Mercedes, with the Scot going fifth fastest, whilst Ocon rounded out the top ten.
Tom Blomqvist showed good consistency, as he was the only BMW driver to hit the top ten in sixth place behind Di Resta by just 0.003 seconds.
Mattias Ekström, Adrien Tambay and Nico Müller occupied seventh to ninth places for Audi in the top ten, which was covered by 0.402 seconds.
This was following on from a successful day for the Munich manufacturer yesterday, which saw Marco Wittmann take his first win of the year and BMW having six of their cars finish in the top ten.
Wittmann, however, could only muster the 14th fastest time, in between Maxime Martin and António Félix da Costa, with Robert Wickens still struggling with his C63 AMG DTM down in 16th place.
Qualifying for race two starts at 12:50 local time (11:50 BST) and lasts for 20 minutes.
