After a successful 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) season, which saw Pascal Wehrlein and gooix/Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG secure the drivers’ and teams’ titles respectively, Mercedes-AMG DTM have now revealed their choices for the forthcoming test at Jerez, which starts tomorrow (Tuesday 1st December).

Former McLaren F1 driver, Kevin Magnussen, will be one of the six that will drive the 2015-specification C63 AMG DTM at the 4.428-km track. The 23-year-old, who competed for the Woking-based squad in 2014, scored 55 points in his only season, before taking on test driver driver duties.

A familiar face from the Stuttgart outfit, sportcar driver Maro Engel, will be back in a DTM car for the first time since 2011. The inaugural FIA GT World Cup winner raced with Mercedes for four seasons in the series from 2008.

Formula Renault 3.5 Series veteran Jazeman Jaafar has been selected, along with GP2’s Rafaelle Marciello, who won with Mercedes power back in 2014 with Prema Powerteam in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.

Magnussen will also be joined by fellow countryman Mikkel Jensen, who won the 2014 German ADAC Formula 4 championship, as well as completing his first season in the Formula 3 European Championship this year.

The final driver to take part in the forthcoming test will be current GP3 driver Marvin Kirchhöfer, who secured third place with ART Grand Prix in this year’s championship, behind current test and reserve driver Esteban Ocon and Lucia Ghiotto.

Both Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig completed their mileage behind the wheel of the 2015-spec car today (30th November), as a reward for their title success in the ADAC GT Masters this year.
