Rob Huff to compete in Nürburgring 24 Hours

Rob Huff Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3World Touring Car Championship racer Rob Huff is set to compete in the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hour race around the Nordschleife circuit – on the same day as competing in the supporting WTCC races at the legendary circuit.

Huff, who races a LADA Vesta full-time in the WTCC, will compete in the 24 Hour GT race at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 for Team Premio, assisted by MCG Racing under the guidance of Hans-Peter Naundorf.

Brit Huff will share the car with pro drivers Phillip Frommenwiler, Kenneth Heyer and Christian Krognes.

“I am very much looking forward to a busy weekend at ‘The Ring’,” said Huff, who competed in the famous event last year, despite it taking place on the same weekend as the WTCC race at Spa-Francorchamps. Logistically, this year’s event will be easier for Huff, with the WTCC races both taking place on Saturday before the main endurance event.

“I am thankful to the team and Dunlop for the opportunity to take on the 24 Hour race in front-running machinery, which I think is worthy recognition of my endurance outings last year at the Nordschliefe and elsewhere where I achieved five podiums in six starts, including a second place finish in an SLS at the Dubai 24 Hour race.

“Knowing both the Mercedes and the track well, I am hoping to settle right in and get a strong result in both the WTCC event and 24 Hour.”

Huff will also participate in qualifying, which takes place on Thursday 14 May at 19:25 CEST.
